Stand UP for Gods Assignment
When God gave me the assignment of building a community and platform for Christian estheticians and beauty professionals, I thought he had called the wrong gal for the job. You see, although I love the Lord, building a community for others was not what I had in mind. There are risk and assumptions that come with professing your faith. All of it makes me UNCOMFORTABLE! It felt like God didn’t understand the situation down here on earth. Sharing my experiences is scary, its personal, and a little too close Then there’s social media: engagement, cancel culture, rejection, feeling like you're wasting your time. I thought, “God you definitely have the wrong person for the job”, but God was unrelenting in what He wanted and let, me tell you something when God speaks YOU WILL KNOW. I had no choice but to STAND UP!
When God gives you an assignment you have a responsibility to stand up and accept it, even if it walks you straight out of your comfort zone or does not produce “your” desired results. Standing up for God means doing what he is calling you to do, allowing him to hold your hand through the process, and staying committed until the task is completed. How do you know if what you are standing up for is from God? The best way to know is to build a daily relationship with Him through prayer.
On most days I wake up on fire with tenacity and a sense of purpose about Gods assignment not only for BYM but for my other businesses as well. The sense of urgency and purpose I have today can only come from the Lord. It is also confirmation that I am on the right track. When I mess up I ask for forgiveness, if I am asked to do something even if it doesn’t make sense to me I DO IT! I try to let God connect the dots and trust his process and His promises (FYI he has individual promises for all of us).
Standing up doesn’t mean your walk will be perfect, and you need not hold back out of fear God knows we are human, he understands our emotions and guess what? He loves us anyway.
God really has been working on my spirit with this assignment and although I am uncomfortable at times, I know better than to be disobedient. I will stand up for Gods assignment and do the work. I understand that God has called me to untuck my Christianity and walk the road of professing who I am and build a community with others so we can share our journey with each other. So don’t give up on your vision, your hopes, and your aspirations. Keep walking towards God in faith and inspire those around you.
Stand Up
