5 Ways God Indirectly Blesses Your Finances…

When your financial resources are tight, and your books are slow, it’s easy to point your eyes to God and petition Him for more clients and more financial overflow to help make ends meet. While there is nothing wrong with that prayer, in some of my experiences with God in this area, I haven’t always been blessed in the most obvious ways. Instead, God has given me specific gifts that provide me with more sustainable financial growth. I am not going to lie. When you’re going through tough financial times it can be super scary, and emotionally draining, especially if you’re at risk of losing something like the electricity, insurance, your business, or your decent credit score. My needs have always been met in full and on time, but God has worked in other ways to mend my finances. Here are a few ways God has shown up indirectly in the finance department:

The Gift of Energy

One of the things I struggle with from time to time as a working mother, is an overwhelming sense of fatigue. I can feel both mentally and physically exhausted at times and get very little done in spite of my good intentions. Over the years I have experienced the supernatural energy of God to help me get things done. I have plowed through very tough assignments and projects, worked through the details of revenue generating business ideas, and followed up on phone calls and mass e-mails that have led to new clients and exciting collaborations. My sleep schedule is pretty predictable for the most part, but there are certain times when I have noticed the supernatural energizing power of God, working its way through me. During those moments I recognize I manage to get things done with a different pedigree of confidence and purpose. I thank God for renewing me mentally and physically and giving me the extra energy to work more efficiently and improve my bottom line.

The Gift of Time

Sometimes it can seem like the day is filled with one thing after another. Finding the time to get extra things done or simply completing meaningful work-related tasks like following up with a vendor or reviewing resumes can be hard. One thing that God can provide though is the gift of time. I have seen space open up on my calendar that allows me to knock things off of my to do list. I have been able to take a much-needed nap to restore my mind and work and think better, I have written multiple articles to share on my platform, all of which helped with my overall financial growth.

The Gift of Consistency

A huge barrier to success that many individuals must overcome in their careers is their ability to approach things with consistent effort. Some areas of business that require an incredible amount of consistency are guest follow up, marketing, and overall business management. There are times when I can simply go along with the status quo or completely neglect important parts of my business financial growth strategy. I have noticed that I really struggle with consistency when I do not see the immediate rewards of my hard labor. God has really worked on me over the years in this area and sometimes in ways that have been very painful. At one point I looked back over my career in a lot of pain as I looked at the tons of unfinished projects I had amassed by my lack of consistency. But when I truly looked to God for purposeful directions to realign my finances, one of the gifts I received was the gift of consistency. I continue to watch God as He guides me to completion on very difficult tasks in spite of what my eyes see right now in my bank account. I feel a quiet nudge encouraging me to keep going and reminding me that I am on the right path.

The Gift of Direction

Having clarity and knowing the next steps to take in life is a gift. During times of financial stress God has answered my prayers by showing me different grants to apply for, ordering my steps to make a specific phone call to tap into a new resource or in some cases to hang up the phone to avoid making a devastating financial decision. God has also laid out step by step directions for me to complete certain projects in an organized way that does not feel overly burdensome or complicated for me to address. There have been times when I have reached major milestones because of Gods directions, and it has led to long term financial rewards. In addition to receiving Gods directions, I am also thankful for the gift of obedience that I had in following them.

The Gift of Creativity

This is one area where God has shined a massive light on my career. I can’t think of a single time when God has fallen short on giving me a great idea. One time in particular I was deep in prayer about growing my revenue streams. I had no idea how to duplicate a certain aspect of my business, in my quiet time God answered the how. It was pure genius and as a result I was able to add 3 additional accounts to my business. I know because I chose to step outside of myself and allow God to unleash my creativity I was able to achieve a new milestone in my business and also simultaneously grow my leadership.

How Do I Unlock these Indirect Financial Gifts

Would you like to unlock these gifts and improve your financial outlook? Here are a few tips that helped me: 1. Remember sometimes God will allow financial adversity to draw you closer to Him and increase your reliance on Him. IT WILL NOT ALWAYS FEEL GOOD. 2. It is important to remember to pray for guidance and directions as you consider your next steps. Attend an extra church service, spend 3-5 extra minutes in quiet communion with God to simply get in His presence. 3. It is very hard to think about giving when you are going through tough financial times but there is something about tithing that seriously has diminished my financial insecurities and helped me to get outside of myself. I highly recommend tithing or simply giving up to the level of your faith at this time. 4. Trust God. Try not to curse God but confuse the devil with an attitude of thanks. 5. Perhaps you are not seeing the type of financial movement that you expected. Is it possible that your work is not necessarily impacting you but the generations to come after you? If that is the case you have truly been blessed with the gift of breaking financial barriers within your family. It will certainly not feel good, but knowing that another person in your family will not go through your same struggles because of your sacrifice is very rewarding and worth everything to me.
