On Wednesday October 16 Lush hosted its first Holiday Chat Party. Limited edition retro products were offered and Christmas products were also available. Umm and yes trivia with prizes were also on the menu.
There were four different rooms folks could go into and chat and I had my fingers crossed to reach out to some of Lush’s specialist to learn more about products, new happenings and a sneak peek of things to come for winter. I also of course was thinking could small time beauty-preneurs (thats beauty speak for entrepreneurs) translate this concept for their business. Here is a quick summary of what I learned?
- If you say the word prizes and free people will come. You might want to offer a time frame of when the prizes and trivia will be awarded other wise the chat will get overwhelmed with people constantly asking when the freebies are coming.
- If you get a lot of people chatting at once it will be hard to follow the chat and keep up with all that is going on.
- Plan the organization of the chat party perhaps identify a moderator so that the chat has some direction.
The Overall Beauty Moral Of Party Chats:
Overall a good idea but plan how you will execute it. Good idea for a small time operation but a bigger beauty biz maybe not so much…..
